LIFT, in partnership with the Maritime Industrial Base Ecosystem (MIBE), Old Dominion University, the Hampton Roads Workforce Council and the Community College Workforce Cooperative, provides its Operation Next advanced manufacturing certification to active-duty service members in the region and their spouses. The innovative, self-paced, advanced manufacturing-focused training initiative blends hands-on and virtual learning, giving service members and their spouses the opportunity to earn a credential in many of the most in-demand advanced manufacturing jobs, including welding and CNC machining – at minimal or no cost to them.

Features

Hybrid Curriculum. CNC is a 17 week program, with the first seven weeks delivered online. ITM is eight weeks, and we have two welding programs- one is six weeks, the other is 12 weeks.
Operation Next is an official Department of Defense Skillbridge MOU. Active Duty personnel that meet the criteria for Skillbridge eligibility may apply for the Skillbridge program.

CREDENTIALS

CNC and ITM are NIMS accredited, while our short-course welding is AWS, and the 90-day is NAVSEA and MILSPEC certified.

ADMISSION

Eligible participants WILL NOT have any out of pocket expenses for the training program. Tuition and fees for this program are paid for through a Department of Defense grant.
